Palms House

About the project

A durable, modern coastal home redevelopment designed for Barrenjoey Headland views.

This coastal residence was conceived from a client’s vision to transform an old holiday block into a light-filled contemporary retreat that embraces its breathtaking surroundings. The project involved the redevelopment of an existing holiday block into a modern coastal home designed to maximise structural integrity, natural light, and views toward the distant Barrenjoey Headland and Hawkesbury River. The construction focused on achieving a balance between durability and aesthetics. External cladding in durable weatherboard with a high-quality paint finish ensures longevity against the coastal environment.
Internally, the construction emphasises open plan living with precision joinery and custom-built finishes that integrate seamlessly with the building’s structure. The living, dining, and kitchen areas feature engineered timber floors over acoustic underlay, with detailed ceiling work to accommodate recessed lighting and mechanical ventilation. Large-format sliding doors open directly to a concrete-finished deck area, supported by concealed structural steel framing, ensuring a seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor entertaining spaces. The result is a robustly constructed coastal residence that not only delivers on the client’s vision for contemporary living but also demonstrates quality craftsmanship and attention to every construction detail.
